La musique de My Tricksy Spirit fusionne les sons scintillants d'instruments gamelan balinais
appelés gendér wayang avec dub, électronique, ambient, trip-hop et rock psychédélique.
Le groupe est un collectif, basé sur un noyau composé de Nick Gray (gendér wayang, violon, voix),
Charlie Cawood (guitares, basse, sitar) et Rob Shipster (batterie, électronique et production).
Le groupe a récemment été rejoint par Roxanne Aisthorpe (chant).
L'album s'appuie également sur un groupe d'amis musiciens invités.
