The Opium Cartel  est le projet parallèle mené par  Jacob Holm-Lupo ,
leader, compositeur, guitariste de  White Willow . Par rapport à  White Willow ,
l'approche est plus intimiste et personnelle, mélange de folk-rock doux,
de pop sensuelle aux des orchestrations tantôt acoustiques, tantôt électriques.
Ce premier album intègre de nombreux invités prestigieux : des membres de
White Willow  ou  Jaga Jazzist , Mattias Olsson ( Anglagard ),
Lars Fredrik Frøislie ( Wobbler ), les chanteurs  Tim Bowness ( No-Man ),
Rachel Haden ( Todd Rundgren , Jimmy Eat World .. )
et  Rhys Marsh ( Rhys Marsh & The Autumn Ghost , Anekdoten ...).
Quatre ans après voici " The Ardor " qui réunit encore des musiciens prestigieux.
Cet album s'inscrit dans la mouvance "pop art-rock" scandinave, et envoie un
néo "new wave" assez sophistiqué, nous ramenant quelque peu aux groupes
phares des années quatre vingt tels  Prefab Sprout  voire  Tears For Fears ...
De petits chef-d'oeuvre de la nouvelle école Scandinave.
