Tortoise  est un groupe fondé en 1993 à Chicago. On les dit en partie
initiateurs du style post-rock, mais on les dits également progressifs, rock,
jazz, electro, indie rock, krautrock ... Comment ne pas succomber aux
cheminements tortueux de cette musique sombres, dense et expérimentale
qui alterne plages nerveuses et plages plus atmosphériques, qui allie avec
pertinence programmations électroniques, rythmiques entêtantes, boîte à
rythme, basses, guitare, batterie,... et même vibraphone, instrument
roi sans lequel  Tortoise  ne serait pas ce qu'il est ...
