Les  Flying Burrito Brothers  étaient un groupe de musiciens country/rock
des années 1967-1972 de Los Angeles en Californie, après que
Gram Parsons  et  Chris Hiltman  aient quitté le groupe  The Byrds .
Ils sont issus du rêve de  Gram Parsons  de concilier deux Amériques
qui se tournent le dos :
- l'une, celle des chanteurs de bluegrass et de C & W puritains          
et traditionalistes comme  Merle Haggard  et  Louvin Brothers ,
 - l'autre subversive, avant-gardiste et déjantée du San Francisco de la
fin des années 1960 avec  Grateful Dead  et  Jefferson Airplane .
