Artiste complet, Kevin Gilbert  a eu à maintes occasions la possibilité
de faire montre de ses multiples talents... Producteur de stars tels
Michael Jackson ("Dangerous" 1992) ou  Madonna ("I'm Breathless" 1990),
il fut également le découvreur de la chanteuse  Sheryl Crow , sa petite
amie d'alors. Musicien de sessions très recherché, il fit d'ailleurs partie
du fameux  Tuesday Night Music Club . Notre homme fut également
adulé par les adeptes du rock Progressif : chacun se souvient de sa
prestation remarquable au ProgFest 1994, avec  Giraffe  et ses reprises
de  Genesis . Peter Gabriel  aura rarement été aussi bien imité, et avec
autant de passion et de respect, que ce jour-là ! A cette époque, il rencontre
un jeune groupe en devenir, portant le curieux nom de  Spock's Beard .
Séduit, Kevin Gilbert  décide de produire le premier album "The Light"
(1995). The rest is History ! Excellent chanteur, il se révèle également un
songwriter particulièrement doué. Son premier véritable album solo sera
malheureusement posthume : nous sommes en 1996, et  Kevin Gilbert
 apporte les dernières finitions au conceptuel "The Shaming Of The True".
Cet album conceptuel narre l'ascension de  Johnny Virgil  dans le monde
de la musique et du show-business, puis la déchéance qui s'ensuivit. Une
oeuvre éminemment autobiographique ! Ses amis prennent la décision de
publier cette oeuvre majeure en l'an 2000, afin de lui rendre hommage...
